What is a typical day like for you?
If I am lucky, I've caught about 4 hours of sleep in the debriefing room in a chair, or on the couch. My first priority is to go find coffee and
drank a lot of it. After that, I generally meet first with Council to determine priorities for the daily maintenance of Thunder Mountain. Most
of the morning is spent in meetings - with Sarah to determine changes to the orientation procedure and to be updated with information on our new
members; with Erin to determine resource needs; with outgoing teams to set their goals and objectives, and with some high ranked incoming teams
to personally hear their reports. For most teams, I simply read the executive summaries when I have time in the afternoon. The afternoons are
generally the time for me to catch up on reading various reports from all over Thunder Mountain. I have to stay on top of what is happening
all over the facility. In the evenings, I meet with security to discuss protocol and get updated on any safety concerns. I also meet with
the outgoing teams who were given night missions to outline their plans. If nothing else comes up, I wind up in the debriefing room trying
to catch a few hours of sleep until the next day breaks.
Throughout the day, I grab food from the cafeteria when I have a free minute. Sometimes I have to be reminded to break for meals - usually by
Erin or Jeremiah who both seem to have a 6th sense as to when I am getting run down. I have coffee in hand from the time I awaken until I find
some time to sleep. Generally, I can't sleep, so I try to get some personal recreational reading done. Sometimes my bouts with insomnia are the
only downtime I have to myself.
