Would you choose to live forever if you had the choice?
I would have to honestly say,
NO, I would not want to live forever if I had the choice. Part of the wonder of being alive is valuing life
because it is short and fleeting. We live, knowing we will die, and thus ideally we make decisions and choices that will make the world a
better place for future generations after we die. I am not sure how much people would continue to value and treasure life if they had the
choice to live forever. I can envision people putting off major decisions, ceasing to make immediate personal choices, simply because they
have too much time available in their lives. Procrastination would dominate, I fear.
I wonder how many people wish to live forever because they fear death.
I would rather live for a short time, and work towards changing the world around me right now. It keeps the immediate and personal experience
of being alive as something precious, exhilarating.
